1st Ateneo de Manila University Social Entrepreneurship Training for Trainers

If I were still MNL-based, I would have loved to take this course.  Here's the course description from Mr. Harvey Keh:

Social entrepreneurship is defined as an innovative solution to social problems using entrepreneurial skills. In the Philippines, there are social enterprises that have successfully attained this objective, thus helping raise the quality of life of the partner marginalized group and to some extent, doing good to the environment.

Globally, initiatives and endeavors promoting business and social development as a framework are growing and indeed, developing. In fact, top universities around the world such as Harvard University, Oxford University, and Stanford University are taking the lead in promoting and institutionalizing social entrepreneurship as a systemic classroom-based curriculum for individuals wanting to advance a social mission as social entrepreneurs.

Now, the Ateneo de Manila University-School of Government and the Institute for Social Entrepreneurship in Asia (ISEA) together with the Ateneo Center for Social Entrepreneurship are developing a social entrepreneurship program that is aimed at providing skills training to those interested to become social entrepreneurship trainers for their respective organizations.

In line with this, we are inviting your institution to send delegates to the
1st Social Entrepreneurship Trainer’s Training which will be held on October 18 to 29, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (Mondays thru Fridays only) at the Ateneo de Manila University, Loyola Heights campus. Program fee is P29, 000.00 covering the meals (lunch & snacks) and course materials of the participants. The main facilitator for this program is Prof. Marie Lisa Dacanay, ISEA Executive Director. Certificates of completion will be awarded to the participants upon completing the whole training program.

DISCOUNTS: An early bird discount of 10% will be given for those who register and complete their payment by 30 August 2010. A Group discount of 5% is also offered to groups of 3 or more registrants. Early bird groups will be given a total discount of 15%.
